Shine, Do, Thrive with Creative & Compassionate Occupational Therapy Care

Our Mission

Empowering Clients’ Growth through Compassionate, Creative Occupational Therapy Care

Sunny Day Therapy enhances independence and well-being in children and adults. We promote connections- through building relationships and access to educational tools and resources. We build strong bodies and minds through motor strengthening, reflex integration, executive function, and sensory integration therapies.

Sunny Day Therapy is devoted to improving nervous system regulation and holistic strength across the lifespan. We use a family systems model to provide education and to empower clients during seasons of stress and occupational disruption. We also provide education on infant massage, sensory health, and maternal health occupational therapy to address the needs of the perinatal period and beyond (as needed based on client concerns).  We serve families – kids, teenagers, and adults. Anxiety is a problem that keeps people from completing their daily activities. We are here to help with physical calm down strategies, environmental strategies, motor strengthening, reflex integration knowledge, sensory strategies, and executive functioning strategies (brain boosting internal strategies). Sunny Day Therapy’s Story Power programs and tools give clients strategies and a voice to take ownership of their problems and have choices on ways to calm their body and mind.

Dr. Kimberly Day, co-owner and lead therapist of Sunny Day Therapy, is board certified in pediatric occupational therapy (BCP) and a certified infant massage instructor (CIMI-2). She has extensive training in reflexes (CPRCS), lifestyle redesign (USC), home modifications (ECHM), & perinatal health (PMH-C). She has worked with all ages and believes her background as an English major helps her provide organized tools to help clients live out their stories and find meaning & balance through daily activities.

Matthew Day, office manager and co-owner of Sunny Day Therapy, is an experienced business owner and attorney whose organizational skills guide and coordinate our operations. He supports admin and clients through offering billing and scheduling support.

We have 5 clinical treatment areas- each one focused on specific age ranges. Our high-low tables in two rooms adapt to just the right height needs of teenagers, children, and adults. Specifically designed spaces promote regulation and empowerment across the lifespan. Adults and adolescents complete age-specific sensory profiles as well as undergo specific testing based on occupational performance problems concerned. When appropriate, reflexes and motor skills can also be assessed. Concerns for adolescents and adults could include executive function, organization, regulation, sensory processing, planning ahead, prioritization, initiation of tasks, body awareness, anxiety, motor planning. Holistic tool options meet where clients where they are to promote client investment and mastery of skills. This is no cookie cutter approach.
